Dr. Cheng specializes in surgical as well as non-surgical care of neck, upper back and lower back disorders.

He works closely with the departments of Pain Management, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, and the brace shop to maximize non-surgical treatment. 

Minimal Invasive Spine Surgery

Dr. Cheng focuses on procedures such as 1-inch incision for endoscopic spine fusion, diskectomy, IDET for discogenic pain, kyphoplasty for osteoporotic fractures, spinal cord stimulator and pain pump for relief of neuropathic pain.

Complex Spine Reconstruction

Adult scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, kyphosis, tumor, fractures, failed back syndrome, flat back syndrome.

Artificial Disc Replacement

Now that this is FDA approved - Dr. Cheng is one of the few highly-trained spine surgeons in Southern California doing this procedure.  The best candidates are those who are limited to 1 or 2 levels of discogenic problems, usually confirmed by MRI or dicogram, as well as physical symptoms.

Kyphoplasty

This is reserved for those with compression fractures of the spine.
